Bottom Line: This movie grabs you from the very first scene, effectively creating a tense atmosphere. It does a fantastic job of making you feel the unpredictability and wildness that was the American frontier. The vivid imagery, writing, and acting all contribute towards a movie watching experience you’ll remember for days. If you are a fan of horror movies, and haven’t yet dabbled in horror/westerns, we highly recommend. Just…maybe don’t watch on a “first date” night. There are some rather graphic scenes that will effectively kill any kind of romantic mood.

Food Pairing: If you really want to feel one with the frontier, try some authentic frontier recipes like Boiled Salt Pork or Rabbit Stew. But, if you aren’t feeling that risky, go with our recommendation of the next best thing, baked beans and BBQ Chicken. It’ll still make you feel like you’re on the dusty trail.

Drink Pairing: There is really only one option here. Good, old fashioned, American whiskey; AKA “The Water of Life.” Take your pick of Rye or Bourbon. We favor bourbon, and to fit the movie, look for something like Old Crow or Old Grand Dad.
