The UnReel Take:
Bottom Line: The first phase of the MCU (or is it two phases?), that included Guardians of the Galaxy volumes 1 and 2, and culminated in Avengers: Endgame, was unlike any movie experience I have had so far. You can’t deny, watching all of the movies in order of events was a stroke of brilliance, an unlikely result of 10+ years of planning. I think I even told my wife after watching Endgame, I’d be surprised if they could pull this off again. One, because the amount of effort it took to tie in/crossover 22 movies with minimal plot gaps; and two, because of superhero fatigue. I think we have been seeing a lot of a mixture of both in recent Superhero releases. But then Marvel does something to totally redeem themselves! By way of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3. I laughed, I gasped, I cried. And, it is absolutely outstanding as a standalone entry, providing a completely enjoyable movie watching experience. Fun for a date night, family movie night, or any kind of night you want to have. If you don’t like superhero movies…I get it. Maybe give it a try? You might be surprised. If you don’t like it…something might be wrong with you don’t kill the messenger ;)

UnReel Category: Super Action - This is the type of superhero movie that made us fall in love with them in the first place.
Food Pairing: Don’t ask me why it works, but I’d go with any kind of noodle dish, like any variety of Chow Mein, Pad Thai, or Pad See-Ew. Something about noodles with meat just works with what you would expect a “space city” cuisine to be.
Drink Pairing: Something bright and colorful. Again, just fits with what you picture when thinking of a space cocktail. Try a soju mixed drink, they have a lot of fun, colorful, and delicious recipes.
