The UnReel Take:
Bottom Line: This movie is one of the early adopters of the “found footage” sub-genre of horror films, and as a result it falls into some of the traps of the genre. To us, it wasn’t really all that scary, but it really had potential to be. Don’t get us wrong, the plot itself is very disturbing, however the actors who played the “professionals” ranging from FBI agents to doctors, just were not convincing at all, and it completely takes you out of the found footage experience and believability.
UnReel AR: 3.0
UnReel Category: Found Footage - Despite our comments above, some of the still imagery (as you can tell) is fairly frightening.
Food Pairing: This is a good movie for pizza. It will counteract any potential bad taste in your mouth from the movie.
Drink Pairing: We had some delicious Oktoberfest beers with this movie, and happened to be an excellent pairing. But, try any seasonal beer selection and it should work out well.
